Privacy Policy
EyeTrainer is a visionOS app for Apple Vision Pro developed by Vision Research. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. We are committed to your privacy — EyeTrainer collects no personal information and transmits nothing to external servers.
1. What Data We Collect
EyeTrainer stores the following data locally on your device:
- Exercise session records — logs of completed exercises including duration and session metadata
- User presets — custom exercise configurations you save within the app
- Custom path coordinates — paths you draw during hand-tracking exercises
- Per-exercise settings — preferences stored via iOS UserDefaults (e.g., speed, difficulty)
We do not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, location, or any other personal information.
2. How We Collect It
All data is generated directly from your interactions with the app and stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and UserDefaults. No data is collected passively, transmitted over the network, or stored on any external server.
3. How We Use the Data
The data stored locally is used solely to:
- Display your exercise history and progress within the app
- Restore your saved presets and settings between sessions
- Re-render custom paths you have drawn
All processing happens entirely on your device. EyeTrainer has no server-side component and performs no data analysis outside the app.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your data to any third party. The only external system the app interacts with is Apple's App Store, which handles subscription purchases through StoreKit 2. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. EyeTrainer itself never receives or stores your payment information.
5. Hand Tracking
EyeTrainer requests hand tracking permission on visionOS exclusively to allow you to draw custom paths within the app. Hand tracking data is used only in real time during the drawing interaction. Only the resulting path coordinates are stored locally — raw hand tracking sensor data is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. You may deny this permission; doing so will only disable the custom path drawing feature.
6. visionOS Permissions
EyeTrainer requests only the following visionOS permission:
- Hand Tracking — used solely for custom path drawing (see Section 5)
EyeTrainer does not request and does not use surroundings scanning, head tracking, eye tracking, camera access, microphone access, or any other system permission.
7. Eye Tracking
EyeTrainer does not access eye tracking data. On visionOS, eye tracking is a system-level capability that Apple does not expose to third-party apps. The app has no visibility into where you are looking.
8. Health Data
EyeTrainer does not read from or write to Apple Health. Exercise records are stored within the app's own local database and are not synced to HealthKit, iCloud, or any other service. In accordance with Apple's guidelines, health and vision data is never used for advertising or shared with data brokers.
9. iCloud and Sync
EyeTrainer does not use iCloud or any other cloud sync service. Your data exists only on the device where you use the app and is not accessible from other devices.
10. Data Retention
Your data is retained locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual records from within the app. Uninstalling EyeTrainer permanently deletes all locally stored data.
11. Data Deletion
To delete your data:
- In-app deletion — individual exercise records and presets can be removed from within the app
- Full deletion — uninstalling EyeTrainer from your Apple Vision Pro removes all data permanently
Because no data is stored on external servers, there is nothing to request from us.
12. Children's Privacy
EyeTrainer does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us at the address below.
13. Third-Party SDKs and Analytics
EyeTrainer contains no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, crash reporting tools, or advertising frameworks. The app is built exclusively with Apple's first-party frameworks: SwiftUI, RealityKit, StoreKit, and SwiftData.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
