EyeTrainer

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about EyeTrainer.

General

What devices does EyeTrainer support?

EyeTrainer is designed exclusively for Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 2.0 or later. It is not available on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Is EyeTrainer a medical device?

No. EyeTrainer is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It has not been evaluated by the FDA or any other regulatory authority. Always consult a licensed eye care provider before beginning any vision exercise program.

Do I need a prescription to use EyeTrainer?

No prescription is needed. However, if you have a diagnosed vision condition such as amblyopia or convergence insufficiency, we strongly recommend working with an eye care professional who can guide your training.

Exercises & Training

How long should each session be?

Start with 1–2 minute sessions and build up gradually. Most users settle on 3–5 minute sessions. If you experience eye strain, headache, or discomfort, stop immediately and reduce your session duration.

How often should I train?

Consistency matters more than duration. Daily sessions of 3–5 minutes are more effective than occasional long sessions. Many vision therapy programs recommend 5–6 sessions per week.

Can I use EyeTrainer while wearing corrective lenses?

Yes. Apple Vision Pro has built-in support for ZEISS Optical Inserts. If you normally wear corrective lenses, use your optical inserts with EyeTrainer for the best experience.

Can I physically move the ball?

Yes. The training ball is a RealityKit entity that you can grab and reposition anywhere in your space. Pinch the ball and drag it to move it. This lets you set up the exercise exactly where you want it relative to your seating position.

Privacy & Data

Does EyeTrainer collect any data?

No. All data stays on your device. EyeTrainer has no server-side component, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Does EyeTrainer use eye tracking?

No. On visionOS, eye tracking is a system-level capability that Apple does not expose to third-party apps. EyeTrainer has no visibility into where you are looking.

What is hand tracking used for?

Hand tracking is used only for the custom path drawing feature. When you pinch and drag to draw a path, the app records the hand position to create the path shape. Raw sensor data is never stored — only the resulting path coordinates are saved locally.

How much does EyeTrainer cost?

EyeTrainer is $29 per year with a 1-week free trial. The subscription is managed through Apple's App Store.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your Apple Vision Pro (or any Apple device signed into the same Apple ID). Find EyeTrainer and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Is there a free version?

All new users get a 1-week free trial with full access to every feature. After the trial, a subscription is required to continue using the app.
