Custom Paths
Create any movement pattern by drawing in 3D space with your hands. Paths are smoothed and saved as replayable exercises.
Drawing a Path
From the main menu, tap Custom Path. EyeTrainer will request hand tracking permission if it hasn't already.
Pinch your thumb and index finger together to begin drawing. Move your hand through space while maintaining the pinch — the path is recorded as a series of 3D points. Release the pinch to stop recording.
Tip
Draw slowly and deliberately. The path is smoothed with Catmull-Rom splines, so you don't need to be perfectly precise — but large, sweeping motions produce the best results.
Saving Paths
After drawing, you'll see a preview of the ball following your path. If you're happy with it, tap Save to name and store the path. Saved paths appear in your exercise list alongside the built-in exercises.
You can save as many custom paths as you like. To delete a path, swipe left on it in the exercise list.
Traversal Modes
Custom paths support three traversal modes that control how the ball moves along the path:
- Loop — the ball continuously follows the path in one direction, returning to the start when it reaches the end.
- Ping-Pong — the ball reverses direction at each end of the path, moving back and forth.
- One-Shot — the ball traverses the path once, then stops. Useful for timed exercises.
Note
Hand tracking data is processed entirely on-device. Only the resulting path coordinates are saved — raw sensor data is never recorded or transmitted.
